Biography
Film audiences may recognize John Sharian for playing the slightly deformed coworker of Christian Bale's character in the 2004 psychological thriller "The Machinist." Although Sharian is most often associated with that role, he's had a long acting career that includes parts in several notable films and television shows. Sharian's film career began in 1994, when he landed the lead in the action/horror flick "Death Machine." By the late '90s, however, he started appearing almost exclusively in science fiction films, including "The Fifth Element," "Lost in Space," and "Fortress 2: Re-Entry." In 1998 Sharian played a corporal in Steven Spielberg's World War II epic, "Saving Private Ryan," a film that won five Academy Awards. In the early 2000s Sharian started lending his voice to video games and provided the voice of a circus man in the 2000 British stop-animation movie "Chicken Run." In 2007 he landed a recurring role as prisoner Joe LeBrock on the crime procedural "CSI: Miami."
