Biography

Guy Siner has enjoyed a long and fruitful acting career spanning more than 30 years. For many people around the world, he is instantly recognizable as the sexually ambiguous German officer, Lieutenant Gruber, from the British sitcom "'Allo 'Allo!," which is one of the most successful programs in the history of the BBC. During the show's run, from 1982 to 1992, Siner appeared in over 90 episodes. When it finished production, he relocated to the United States (where he was born). In 1995, he made his television debut on an episode of the influential sitcom "Seinfeld." Following that appearance, he could be seen in more American productions, such as playing a prison official in David Lynch's weird and creepy "Lost Highway" in 1997, and the harbormaster who greets the character Jack Sparrow in 2003's "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl." Soon after that role, he returned to the U.K., where he reprised the part of Lieutenant Gruber for the 2007 stage production of "'Allo 'Allo!" and began concentrating more on his production and writing career.
