Biography
Mel Jackson was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. At the start of his acting career, Jackson appeared on television comedies like "The Parent 'Hood" (WB, 1994-99) and "In the House" (UPN, 1994-97). He also was featured in the miniseries "George Wallace" (1996-97). He had a part on the television special "Native Son" (TLC, 1996-97). Jackson launched his entertainment career by acting in films like the dramedy "Soul Food" (1997) with Vanessa Williams. He also landed a role in the miniseries "The Temptations" (1998-99). He also worked in television during these years, including a part on "Vengeance Unlimited" (ABC, 1998-99). As his entertainment career progressed, he appeared in "An Uninvited Guest" (2000) with Mekhi Phifer. Jackson focused on film in more recent years, appearing in the Nicole Ari Parker drama "Dancing in September" (2001), the Vivica A. Fox thriller "Motives" (2002) and the LL Cool J comedy "Deliver Us From Eva" (2003). He also appeared in the Miguel A Nunez Jr. comedy "Flip the Script" (2005) and "A Good Man is Hard to Find" (2007). Jackson most recently acted in "To Love And To Cherish" (2014).
