At the beginning of her acting career, Emery appeared in various dramas like "First Monday" (CBS, 2001-02), "NCIS" (CBS, 2003-) and "Bones" (Fox, 2005-17). She additionally landed roles in the TV movies "Child of Darkness, Child of Light" (USA, 1991) and "Another Pretty Face" (ION Television Network, 2002). She continued to work steadily in television dramas throughout the early 2000s, appearing on "Commander in Chief" (ABC, 2005-06). Her work around this time also included a part on the TV movie "Snow Wonder" (CBS, 2005). She also worked in film during these years, including a part on the Will Smith box office smash romantic comedy "Hitch" (2005).
