Biography

Actor Montae Russell is best known for his role as Dwight on the very popular drama "ER." Russell's career on screen began with a 1989 guest appearance on the action show "A Man Called Hawk." During the 1990s, he appeared on dramas such as the medical show "Chicago Hope," the ensemble program "Party of Five," and the period TV movie "Lily in Winter." He also appeared in several sitcoms, including "Something Wilder," a short-lived show starring comedic actor Gene Wilder, as well as "Family Matters" and "The Wayans Bros." He began playing the role of paramedic Dwight Zadro in 1995 and remained part of the cast of "ER" until the show ended its run in 2009, appearing in over 100 episodes. He had concurrent roles in several other shows, including a two-episode stint on the comedy "Almost Perfect" and an appearance on the eccentric Tracey Ullman comedy, "Tracey Takes On.." He had a small part in the sci-fi film "Godzilla" and was in the Ice Cube feature "The Players Club" in 1998. After "ER" ended, Russell had several more guest TV roles, including one episode on "Detroit 1-8-7."
