Biography
Mel Carter was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. In the beginning of his acting career, Carter starred in comedies like the Shari Eubank film "Chesty Anderson - U.S. Navy" (1975). He additionally landed roles in the TV movies "U.M.C." (CBS, 1968-69) and "Love Is Not Enough" (NBC, 1977-78). His passion for acting continued to his roles in projects like the Ken Berry fantastical comedy "The Cat From Outer Space" (1978) and the Cliff Gorman action picture "Angel" (1984). He also worked in television around this time, including a part on "Magnum, P.I." (CBS, 1980-88). Carter also created music for "Eye on the Sparrow" (NBC, 1987-88). Carter's music was most recently used in "Believe In Me" (2007). In addition to his music, Carter also appeared on-screen in "Doo Wop 51" (PBS, 2000-01).
