Biography

Writer Alan Burnett is responsible for some of the most beloved animated shows on television. He began his career with "Shirt Tales," followed by the SuperFriends shows "SuperFriends: The Legendary Super Powers Show" and "The Super Powers Team: Galactic Guardians," working as a both a writer and a story editor. In 1982, Burnett began writing for one of the most famous animated series in America, creating the exploits of those beloved blue "Smurfs." During the early '90s he worked with Disney on the cartoons "Gummi Bears," "DuckTales," and "TaleSpin." He also began working again on animated DC Comics shows, including "Batman" and "Superman." Between 1993 and 2008 he not only wrote television series, but also penned screenplays for six TV movies. Burnett has continued his collaboration with DC Comics as a producer of the animated films "Batman," "Superman," and "Green Lantern," among others.
