Biography

Benjamin Britten brought his musical talents to a variety of films over the course of his Hollywood career. Britten kicked off his entertainment career with features in films like "Love From a Stranger" (1937), "Doktor Faustus" (1982) and the Magdalena Vasaryova drama "The Turn of the Screw" (1982). His music also appeared in the experimental "The Angelic Conversation" (1985) with Paul Reynolds. In the eighties and the nineties, Britten devoted his time to various credits, such as "The Juilliard School at 80" (PBS, 1985-86), "Fatherland" (1988) and "The Philadelphia Orchestra With Andre Watts at Wolf Trap" (PBS, 1988-89). He also worked on "War Requiem" (1989) starring Nathaniel Parker and "Too Beautiful For You" (1990) starring GĂ©rard Depardieu. Britten's music was also featured in "Moonrise Kingdom" (2012) with Bruce Willis. Britten's music was most recently featured in the Toby Stephens sci-fi flick "The Machine" (2014).
