Biography
Marcia Wright was a big screen film actress known for powerful performances. Wright began her acting career with roles in sitcoms like "Ellen" (1993-98) and "Girlfriends" (2000-08). She also landed roles in various films, such as "While You Were Sleeping" (1995) and the comedic drama "Soul Food" (1997) with Vanessa Williams. In the early 2000s, she worked on the silver screen, taking roles in the Dr. Dre action flick "The Wash" (2001), the Ice Cube crime drama "Barbershop" (2002) and the Pras Michel comedy "Go for Broke" (2002). She also appeared in the Ice Cube comedy sequel "Barbershop 2: Back in Business" (2004). She also worked in television around this time, including a part on "Philly" (ABC, 2001-02). More recently, she tackled roles in the dramatic musical "G" (2005) with Richard T Jones, "Roll Bounce" (2005) with Bow Wow and the dramatic comedy "Nothing Like the Holidays" (2008) with John Leguizamo. Most recently, Wright worked on "The Longest Ride" (2015). Wright's husband was George Tillman Jr..
