Biography

A stunningly beautiful actress and dancer, Kristen Wilson has made a solid screen career for herself supporting some of Hollywood's most notable leading men, particularly with her role as Lisa Dolittle in Eddie Murphy's "Dr. Dolittle" franchise. Raised by adoptive parents in the suburbs of Boston, Wilson trained in dance and won a spot with the Boston Ballet for four years. Later she attended Syracuse University, where she received her BFA in musical theatre, though she left while completing the degree to perform in a touring company of "West Side Story." Her screen career started with some small roles and work in soap operas, but in 1995 she landed the part of mistreated actress Robin Givens in an HBO film of Mike Tyson's life, "Tyson." This exposure won Wilson a part the following year in the Adam Sandler-Damon Wayans action comedy "Bulletproof." Three years later Wilson won the role of Lisa Doolittle, wife of Eddie Murphy's title character in the blockbuster Disney franchise; she went on to star in the two sequels in 2001 and 2006. While appearing in that franchise the actress also found TV work, notably the recurring part of press secretary Kendall Truman on the D.C.-set police series "The District." On top of her extensive television work Wilson has consistently won film roles, appearing memorably opposite Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson in the 2004 action remake "Walking Tall."
