Biography
Biography
Natalie West, a native of the upper midwest city of Grand Forks, North Dakota, has spent most of her acting career working in regional and Off-Broadway theater. A strapping blonde with corn-fed good looks, West is best known to television viewers through her stint on the hugely successful sitcom "Roseanne," where she played Roseanne Conner's neighbor and best friend since childhood, Crystal Anderson. For the first season of the series, Crystal was a somewhat flighty woman with a checkered romantic past including four failed marriages, but after veteran character actor Ned Beatty was introduced to the show as Roseanne's traveling-salesman father-in-law Ed Conner, the show's writers concocted a May-December romance for the pair, against the wishes of Roseanne's husband Dan (John Goodman). Crystal and Ed wed in the series' second season and they went on to have two children; in later seasons of the long-running show, Crystal was reduced to an occasional guest star. West continued with her stage career during and after her years on "Roseanne"; her filmography consists of a small handful of minor roles in obscure films and TV movies.
