Biography

Antoinette Bower is best known for her role as Sylvia, an alien temptress from the original "Star Trek" series on the episode "Catspaw." But the German-born actress of English heritage has had an extensive resume playing guest parts in TV programming, spanning everything from sci-fi and drama to comedy and made-for-TV films. Throughout a career that lasted nearly 40 years, Bower amassed close to 100 credits, appearing on such popular programs as the eerie anthology series "Twilight Zone," the chase drama "The Fugitive," and the long-running mystery show "Murder, She Wrote." While Bower never managed to make a huge splash in feature films, she did gain small parts in the 1962 theatrical hit "Mutiny on the Bounty" and the 1971 cult horror film "The Mephisto Waltz." In the '90s, Bower capped off a close to four-decade run in the industry by securing a starring role (as the character Fox Devlin) on the long-running Canadian drama series "Neon Rider." Bower retired from acting when the series ended in 1992.
