Biography
Monique Van De Ven was an actress who had a successful Hollywood career. Early on in her acting career, De Ven landed roles in various films, including the Roger Van Hool drama "Verloren Maandag" (1973), "Turkish Delight" (1973) and the Kees Brusse drama "Dakota" (1974). She also appeared in "Keetje Tippel" (1975), "Anita Droegemoeller und Die Ruhe an der Ruhr" (1976) and "Doctor Vlimmen" (1977). Her film career continued throughout the eighties in productions like "Ademloos" (1982), "Brandende Liefde" (1983) and "De Schorpioen" (1984). She also appeared in "The Assault" (1986). During the latter part of her career, she continued to act in the thriller "Paint It Black" (1989) with Sally Kirkland, the Marion Van Thijn thriller "Lily Was Here" (1989) and "Romeo" (1990). She also appeared in the Jurgen Prochnow thriller "The Man Inside" (1990) and "Eline Vere" (1991). Most recently, De Ven directed "Zomerhitte" (2008) with Sophie Hilbrand.
