Tyson's acting career began mostly with her roles in various films, such as the drama "Jungle Fever" (1991) with Wesley Snipes, the Angela Bassett dramatic musical "What's Love Got to Do With It" (1993) and the comedy sequel "Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit" (1993) with Whoopi Goldberg. She worked in television in her early acting career as well, including parts on "Martin" (Fox, 1991-97) and "The Larry Sanders Show" (1992-98). In the nineties and the early 2000s, Tyson devoted her time to various credits, such as the Morgan Freeman and Brad Pitt box office smash "Seven" (1995), "Last Dance" (1996) starring Sharon Stone and "Two Can Play That Game" (2001) starring Vivica A. Fox. She also worked on "My Baby's Daddy" (2004). Tyson's distinctive voice can be heard on "Robot Chicken" (Cartoon Network, 2004-2015) and the Ray Romano box office smash animated sequel "Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs" (2009).
