Biography
George Turner has built an incredible presence on the big screen throughout his acting career. Turner kickstarted his acting career in various films such as "Mandrake the Magician" (1939), "The Contender" (1944) and the Olivia de Havilland comedy "The Well-Groomed Bride" (1946). He also appeared in "Crossfire" (1947) with Robert Young and "Son of Zorro" (1947). He continued to act in productions like the Allan Lane western "Vigilantes of Boomtown" (1947), "Call Northside 777" (1948) and "Race Street" (1948) with George Raft. He also appeared in "One From the Heart" (1982). In the eighties through the nineties, Turner lent his talents to projects like "Creature" with Stan Ivar (1985), "Freddie as F.R.O.7" (1992) and "Oscar's Orchestra" (1997-98). His credits also expanded to "Universal Horror" (Turner Classic Movies, 1998-99) and "Velvet Goldmine" with Ewan McGregor (1998). Most recently, Turner worked on "Willa" (PBS, 1999-2000).
