Biography
Sophie Tucker was an actress who had a successful Hollywood career. Tucker's career beginnings included film roles in "Honky Tonk" (1929) and the Judy Garland sports drama "Thoroughbreds Don't Cry" (1937). Tucker then began to rack up a number of film credits, including roles in the Robert Taylor musical "Broadway Melody of 1938" (1938), the musical "Follow the Boys" (1944) with George Raft and the Eleanor Powell musical comedy "Sensations of 1945" (1944). Tucker was most recently credited in "Get Bruce" (1999) with Rosie O'Donnell. Tucker was married to Abe Lackerman and had one child. Tucker passed away in February 1966 at the age of 82.
