Biography
Ernest Tubb worked on a variety of projects during his entertainment career. Tubb began his acting career in film, appearing in such titles as "Hollywood Barn Dance" (1947) and the Sissy Spacek dramatic biopic "Coal Miner's Daughter" (1980). He had an early role on the television special "Fifty Years of Country Music" (NBC, 1980-81). He also contributed to a variety of television specials, including "Loretta Lynn: The Lady... The Legend" (NBC, 1981-82) and "Roy Acuff -- 50 Years the King of Country Music" (NBC, 1981-82). Tubb also created music for the action film "Dudes" (1988) with Jon Cryer. Tubb was most recently credited in "Believe In Me" (2007). Tubb passed away in September 1984 at the age of 70.
