Biography

Donald Symington was an actor with a strong presence in film throughout his Hollywood career. He also appeared in the TV movie "Gidget Grows Up" (ABC, 1969-1970). He worked in series television while getting his start in acting, including a part on "Love of Life" (CBS, 1951-1980). He next focused his entertainment career on film, appearing in "The Front" (1976) with Woody Allen, the Woody Allen comedy "Annie Hall" (1977) and "Bloodline" (1979) with Audrey Hepburn. He also appeared in "Wolfen" (1981). He also starred in the TV movies "Sanctuary of Fear" (NBC, 1978-79) and "A Question of Honor" (CBS, 1981-82). During the latter part of his career, he tackled roles in "Hanky Panky" (1982), the comedy "Spring Break" (1983) with David Knell and the F. Murray Abraham comedy "Mighty Aphrodite" (1995). He also worked in television during these years, including roles in "Swans Crossing" (1991-92) and "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (NBC, 1999-). Most recently, Symington acted in the comedy "Man of the Century" (1999) with Gibson Frazier.
