Fred Stewart was an actor who founded his entertainment career success with roles in film. Stewart started off his career in film with roles in the Dana Andrews documentary "Boomerang" (1947), the Andy Griffith dramatic adaptation "A Face in the Crowd" (1957) and "Splendor in the Grass" (1961) with Natalie Wood. He went on to act in "The Doctors" (1962-1983), "The Nurses" (CBS, 1962-65) and the Peter Sellers comedy adaptation "The World of Henry Orient" (1964). He also appeared in the Sidney Poitier dramatic adaptation "In the Heat of the Night" (1967). Later in his career, Stewart acted in the comedic adaptation "A New Leaf" (1971) with Walter Matthau.
