Biography
Jon Paul Steuer was born on Mar. 27, 1984, in Escondido, CA. After being discovered by a talent agent at age four, Steuer made his professional acting debut on an episode of the sitcom "Day by Day" (NBC 1988-89). This led to larger and more memorable parts, such as that of Alexander Rozhenko on a season 4 episode of "Star Trek: The Next Generation" (Syndication 1987-1994). Next, Steuer found himself enlisted to join the ensemble cast of the sitcom "Grace Under Fire" (ABC 1993-98), on which he played the titular character's troublemaking son Quentin; the role was eventually redistributed to actor Sam Horrigan. During his run with the program, Steuer was cast in the popular family film "Little Giants" (1994), playing preadolescent football star Viper Vennaro. Following his separation from "Grace Under Fire," Steuer pursued a career in music. Starting in 2003, he began performing with bands including Kill City Thrillers and Jonny P. Jewels, which later became known as Soda Pop Kids; his music career placed him in the likes of Denver, CO, and Portland, OR, where Steuer ultimately redirected his efforts toward the culinary arts. In 2015, he opened a vegan restaurant called Harvest at the Bindery. On Jan. 1, 2018, Steuer died as a result of suicide.
