Biography
Actor Edgar Stehli appeared on the big screen many times over the course of his Hollywood career. Stehli started his acting career landing roles in such films as the Dana Andrews documentary "Boomerang" (1947), the Alan Ladd western "Drum Beat" (1954) and the William Holden dramatic adaptation "Executive Suite" (1954). He also appeared in "The Cobweb" (1955) and the Yul Brynner dramatic adaptation "The Brothers Karamazov" (1958). He kept working in film throughout the fifties and the sixties, starring in the western "No Name on the Bullet" (1959) with Audie Murphy, the dramatic adaptation "Atlantis, the Lost Continent" (1960) with Anthony Hall and the dramatic adaptation "Cash McCall" (1960) with James Garner. He also appeared in "A Pocketful of Miracles" (1961) with Glenn Ford. He also worked in television during these years, including a part on "The Twilight Zone" (CBS, 1959-1964). Nearing the end of his career, he tackled roles in the dramatic adaptation "Parrish" (1961) with Troy Donahue, "The Spiral Road" (1962) with Rock Hudson and "Twilight of Honor" (1963). He also appeared in the Rock Hudson thrilling adaptation "Seconds" (1966) and the comedic adaptation "The Tiger Makes Out" (1967) with Eli Wallach. Stehli last acted in the George Segal dramatic adaptation "Loving" (1970). Stehli passed away in July 1973 at the age of 89.
