Jo Stafford

Jo Stafford brought her musical talents to a variety of films over the course of her Hollywood career. Stafford began her entertainment career with music that appeared mostly in comedies like "Biloxi Blues" (1988) with Matthew Broderick and Christopher Walken and the Molly Ringwald film "For Keeps" (1988). An actress as well as a musician, Stafford played a part in "The Swingin' Singin' Years" (NBC, 1959-1960) and "Sinatra 75: The Best Is Yet to Come" (CBS, 1990-91). In the nineties, Stafford's music continued to appear on the silver screen, including in films like the dramatic adaptation "The Mambo Kings" (1992) with Armand Assante, "Dennis the Menace" (1993) with Walter Matthau and "Psycho" (1998) with Vince Vaughn. Her work was also in the Adrien Brody dramatic comedy "Liberty Heights" (1999), "The End of the Affair" (1999) and the Sissy Spacek drama "The Straight Story" (1999). Stafford's music was also featured in "A Single Man" (2009) with Colin Firth, the Michael Cera dramatic adaptation "Youth in Revolt" (2010) and "The Master" (2012). Her music was also featured in the dramatic biopic "Kill Your Darlings" (2013) with Daniel Radcliffe and the Eric Stoltz period drama "Fort McCoy" (2014). Stafford was most recently credited in the dramatic adaptation "Carol" (2015) with Cate Blanchett. Stafford passed away in July 2008 at the age of 91.
