Biography

Though he went on to write, produce, and direct, Al Septien began working in film and television as an actor. After playing bit parts in several TV shows and B films, Septien moved on to writing in 1994, penning the horror sequel "Leprechaun 2" with his creative collaborator Turi Meyer. The following year he wrote and produced another horror movie, "Sleepstalker," co-written and directed by Meyer, which was followed by "The Legend of Galgameth." He and Meyer teamed up again on 1999's "Candyman: Day of the Dead." Three years later, Septien transitioned from horror to sci-fi with the series "Mutant X," followed by several episodes of the critically acclaimed "Andromeda." Septien's greatest success has been on the series "Smallville," about the life of the young Superman. He wrote for the series between 2006 and 2010, as well as producing a number of episodes.
