Biography

Although producer-director Ian Sander's work on the 1991-1993 TV series "I'll Fly Away" is certainly not one of the longest running credits on his resume, it turned out to be one of the most decorated. The 1950s Civil Rights-era TV movie and spinoff drama starring Sam Waterston brought Sander a Producers Guild of America award as well as DGA and Emmy Award nominations. More recently, Sander has brought his skills to bear on the Jennifer Love Hewitt CBS-TV franchise "Ghost Whisperer," which he joined as an executive producer in 2005. He also proved he could keep up with the interactive times by doing the same for an online companion series, "Ghost Whisperer: The Other Side." Sander was a producer on the underrated 1991 legal drama "Equal Justice," about the goings on at a Pennsylvania District Attorney's office, and later executive produced the 1996-1999 crime drama "Profiler." He has also directed a number of episodes for "Ghost Whisperer" and "I'll Fly Away." He began his career as an actor in 1970s.
