Hank Rolike
Biography
Biography
Hank Rolike is most recognizable as a boxing ring corner man in Sylvester Stallone's iconic boxing drama, "Rocky." In this classic American tale of the triumphant underdog, Rolike was the corner man for Apollo Creed, the Undisputed Heavyweight Champion known as, among other things, the Master of Disaster. And yet Rocky and his trainer, Mickey Goldmill (played by an inspiring Burgess Meredith), "go the distance" with the Creed team, lasting 15 rounds. Rolike's part in this epic film was obviously quite small, but he had a chance to display more range in productions like "The Robert Guillaume Show," a very controversial and short-lived series that tackled the story of an interracial couple (and, depending on whom you ask, was sabotaged by ABC because of their fears about ruffling feathers with the topic). Hank Rolike also appeared in the feature "A Small Town in Texas," an action film about a corrupt small-town sheriff battling an ex-convict over a woman.
