Actor Al Pugliese first appeared on television in 1985, as Officer Rodriguez on the critically hailed police drama "Hill Street Blues." Throughout the '80s he worked on television series and in small films. In 1990 he landed a starring role in the TV miniseries "The Trials of Rosie O'Neill," playing the part of George Shaughnessy. Following that role he appeared on several popular comedy shows, including "Sister, Sister" and "Step by Step," until taking on more dramatic parts on "The Practice" and "ER." In 1999 he began playing Sheriff Fred Gilbert on "Judging Amy," and five years later, he appeared on the family series "7th Heaven" as Detective Logan. In addition to his TV work, Pugliese has had small roles in successful films such as "Cast Away" and "Bird."
