William Preston was an actor with a strong presence in film throughout his Hollywood career. He also appeared in the TV movie "Lady in a Corner" (NBC, 1989-1990). He had an early role on the television special "The Haunted Mansion Mystery" (ABC, 1982-83). He worked in series television while getting his start in acting, including a part on "The Cop and the Kid" (NBC, 1975-76). He then appeared in "William Peter Blatty's The Exorcist III" (1990), the fantastical comedy "The Fisher King" (1991) with Robin Williams and "Far and Away" (1992). He also appeared in the Elizabeth McGovern drama "Me & Veronica" (1993), the Charles Grodin adaptation sequel "It Runs in the Family" (1994) and the action movie "Waterworld" (1995) with Kevin Costner. Preston also appeared in "I'm Not Rappaport" (1996) with Walter Matthau, the dramatic adaptation "The Crucible" (1996) with Daniel Day-Lewis and the comedy "The Hotel Manor Inn" (1997) with John Randolph. He also was featured in the TV movie "Destination Anywhere" (VH1, 1996-97). He held additional roles in television including a part on "Spin City" (1996-2002).
