Biography

Rick Podell was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. He also was featured in the miniseries "Once an Eagle" (1976-77). He appeared in a number of television specials, including "Snafu" (1975-76), "The Chopped Liver Brothers" (ABC, 1976-77) and "The Paul Williams Show" (NBC, 1978-79). He also appeared in "Never Say Never" (CBS, 1978-79). He worked in television in his early acting career as well, including a part on "Switch" (CBS, 1975-78). He then appeared in the comedy "Lunch Wagon" (1980) with Pamela Bryant, "Hero at Large" (1980) and the Chris Makepeace drama "The Oasis" (1984). Toward the end of his career, he tackled roles in the sci-fi fantasy "World Gone Wild" (1988) with Bruce Dern and the Brooke Adams thriller "The Unborn" (1991). He also was featured in the TV movies "Archie: To Riverdale and Back Again" (NBC, 1989-1990) and "For the Very First Time" (NBC, 1990-91). Most recently, Podell voiced characters in "American Dad" (2004-).
