Biography
Amazon-proportioned theater actor who appeared in episodes of various shows until landing the regular role of Meg Tynan on the hit CBS sitcom, "Love & War" (1992-95). A towering, big-boned woman with a deadpan, self-deprecating delivery, Plakson racked up extensive theater credits before working steadily in episodic TV, initially starring in a pilot for a series based on "Married To The Mob" (1989), playing the Michelle Pfeiffer role. The pilot wasn't picked up but Plakson made guest appearances on "Family Ties," "Beauty and the Beast," "Murphy Brown," "The Torkelsons" and "Murphy's Law" as well as providing the voice for the recurring character Monica on the puppet comedy "Dinosaurs" (ABC, 1991-92). As Meg, an acerbic sportswriter on "Love & War," Plakson played the longtime platonic gal pal of opinionated sportswriter Jack Stein. Plakson has also appeared in the features "Bingo" (1991) and "Disclosure" (1994).
