Biography
Jan Peerce was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. In 1932, he joined Radio City Music Hall as an operatic tenor. In 1939, he had his first New York solo recital. In 1941, he made his New York Metropolitan Opera debut. Peerce began his career with a role in "Carnegie Hall" (1947) with Marsha Hunt. Peerce then began to rack up a number of film credits, including roles in the Deanna Durbin musical comedy "Something in the Wind" (1947). Later in his career, Peerce acted in the dramatic adaptation "Goodbye, Columbus" (1969) with Richard Benjamin. Peerce was married to Alice Peerce and had two children. Peerce passed away in December 1984 at the age of 80.
