Biography

Collin Wilcox Paxton's acting career took off when she was just 11 years old. Paxton's career in acting began with her roles in various films like "To Kill a Mockingbird" (1962) with Gregory Peck, the horror film "The Name of the Game Is Kill" (1968) with Jack Lord and "The Revolutionary" (1970) with Jon Voight. She also appeared in "The Baby Maker" (1970) with Barbara Hershey and the action film "Jump" (1971) with Tom Ligon. Her passion for acting continued to her roles in projects like the dramatic period piece "9/30/55" (1977) with Richard Thomas, the Roy Scheider action movie "Jaws 2" (1978) and the Sissy Spacek drama "MARIE: A True Story" (1985). Her work around this time also included a part on the TV movie "The Man Who Could Talk to Kids" (ABC, 1973-74). In the latter part of her career, she continued to act in the dramatic adaptation "The Journey of August King" (1995) with Jason Patric and the Kevin Spacey crime picture "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil" (1997). She also was featured in the TV movie "Death in Small Doses" (ABC, 1994-95). She also worked in television during these years, including a part on "Christy" (CBS, 1993-95). Paxton last acted in the drama "A Touch of Fate" (2003) with Teri Hatcher. Paxton passed away in October 2009 at the age of 74.
