Biography

Estelle Omens found incredible success as an accomplished actress, appearing in a variety of films throughout her Hollywood career. Omens began her acting career in film, appearing in such titles as "Joe" (1970), the Joanne Woodward dramatic adaptation "The Effect of Gamma Rays on Man-in-the-Moon Marigolds" (1972) and "Dog Day Afternoon" (1975). She also appeared in the TV movie "The Prince of Central Park" (CBS, 1976-77). She kept working in film throughout the seventies and the eighties, starring in the Shirley MacLaine comedy "Loving Couples" (1980) and the comedy "Stir Crazy" (1980) with Gene Wilder. She also starred in the TV movies "Contract on Cherry Street" (NBC, 1977-78) and "Topper" (ABC, 1979-1980). Nearing the end of her career, she continued to act in "Looker" (1981) with Albert Finney, "Dead and Buried" (1982) and the Michael Keaton comedy "Mr. Mom" (1983). Omens was most recently credited in "Unfaithfully Yours" (1984) with Dudley Moore. Omens passed away in December 1983 at the age of 55.
