John Newton was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Newton worked on a variety of projects during his early entertainment career, including "Inside Moves" (1980) starring John Savage, "Spasms" (1986) starring Peter Fonda and "The Doctors" (NBC, 1962-1983). He also contributed to "The Man From the Diner's Club" (1963) starring Danny Kaye. His work around this time also included a part on the TV movie "SS Doomtrooper" (Syfy, 2005-06). Following that project, he worked on "Law & Order" (1990-2010), "CSI: Miami" (CBS, 2002-2012) and "Friday Night Lights" (NBC, 2006-2011). Newton took on film roles in more recent years, appearing in the horror feature "The Haunting of Molly Hartley" (2008) with Haley Bennett and the noir "Yesterday Was A Lie" (2009) with Kipleigh Brown. He also was featured in the TV movie "The Christmas Card" (Hallmark Channel, 2006-07). He held additional roles in television including a part on "The Mentalist" (CBS, 2008-2015). Most recently, Newton acted on "Vegas" (CBS, 2012-13).
