She also landed roles in movies like the Jackie Gleason comedic adaptation "Don't Drink the Water" (1969) and the Kate Jackson drama "Women in Limbo" (1972). In the eighties and the nineties, Murphy devoted her time to various credits, such as "The Mean Season" (1985), "Band of the Hand" (1986) starring Stephen Lang and "Mandela" (PBS, 1987-88). She also worked on "Back Home" (Disney, 1989-1990), "The Sunset Gang" (PBS, 1990-91) and "Crucifer of Blood" (TNT, 1991-92).
