Maurice Bénichou was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Bénichou began his acting career with roles in such films as "La Vocation Suspendue" (1977), the drama "Les Routes du Sud" (1978) with Yves Montand and "Sale Reveur" (1978). He also appeared in the Yves Montand thriller "I Comme Icare" (1979) and "Qu'est-ce qui fait courir David?" (1982). He kept working in film throughout the nineties and the early 2000s, starring in the Yvan Attal drama "Patriots" (1994), "Mordburo" (1997) and the Antoine De Caunes comedy "Man is a Woman" (1998). He also appeared in the dramatic comedy "Quand on sera grand" (2001) with Mathieu Demy. Recently, he continued to act in the drama "Beneath the Rooftops of Paris" (2007) with Michel Piccoli, the Niels Arestrup comedy "Le Candidat" (2007) and "Off and Running" (2008) with Nathalie Baye. He also appeared in the dramatic adaptation "The Great Alibi" (2008) with Miou-Miou and the Benoît Magimel dramatic adaptation "Inju, the Beast in the Shadow" (2008). Most recently, Bénichou voiced characters in the animated adventure "The Rabbi's Cat" (2012) with Francois Morel.
