Biography
David Morick began acting in 1959 but is best remembered for the role of hapless underling Corporal Sontag on "Hogan's Heroes" nearly a decade later. In the early 1970s, Morick had memorable turns on the sitcoms "The Brady Bunch" and "Mary Tyler Moore," but his biggest role was the part of Sontag on the hit series, which he appeared on sporadically until 1971. After "Hogan's Heroes" ended, Morick's comedic timing, acting chops and recognizable face landed him small parts on the sitcom "The Doris Day Show" and the mystery series "The Rockford Files," though rarely in more than one-off appearances. With a loaded resume and strong connections all over town, Morick managed to carve out a nice little career for himself in Hollywood as a working actor throughout the remainder of the 1970s and most of the 1980s. His charm onscreen and extensive resume gained him parts on programs as diverse as the homesteader saga "Little House on the Prairie" and the raucous comedy "227," among a host of other primetime shows, until he retired from acting in 1988.
