Biography
German bodybuilding champion and former Mr. Universe Ralf Moeller's fantastic physique and manly good looks have won him fans across the world--as has his role as the title character in the late-1990s series "Conan" and appearances in action blockbusters since the early 1990s. Moeller began bodybuilding at age 17 and quickly hit the competition circuits, becoming the German champion by age 25. At over six feet five inches, he was one of the tallest bodybuilders in history. Hollywood doesn't let that sort of presence slip away, and soon he was cast as a futuristic pirate in the Jean-Claude van Damme sci-fi thriller "Cyborg." He again joined the white-hot van Damme and Dolph Lundgren two years later as an armed terrorist for another futuristic sci-fi action flick, "Universal Soldier." Such exposure in the immensely popular action genre in the 1990s got him the lead on the short-lived, low-budget adventure series "Conan" for the USA network. A small flounder like a failed series could never stop someone of Moeller's stature, and he began to work on early 2000s blockbusters like Ridley Scott's Oscar-winning "Gladiator" and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's big-screen action adventure "The Scorpion King." Though he has landed mostly smaller parts in successful films, he is actually one of the few German actors to succeed in Hollywood. No small feat, this was recognized at the 2008 German-American Steuben Parade in New York where Moeller was celebrated by thousands of fans.
