Ewing Mitchell was a big screen film actor known for powerful performances. Mitchell began his career with roles in "Sky King" (CBS, 1951-54) and the Joel McCrea adaptation "Black Horse Canyon" (1954). Mitchell then began to rack up a number of film credits, including roles in the Kirk Douglas adaptation "Man Without a Star" (1955) and the biographical drama "The Court Martial of Billy Mitchell" (1955) with Gary Cooper. Later in his career, Mitchell acted in "Band of Angels" (1957) with Clark Gable. Mitchell passed away in September 1988 at the age of 78.
