Bell began his career with roles in the comedy "Clancy in Wall Street" (1930) with Charles Murray, the dramatic adaptation "Edge of the City" (1957) with John Cassavetes and "Young Dr. Malone" (NBC, 1958-1963). He went on to act in "The Jimmy Durante Show" (1963-64), "The Patty Duke Show" (ABC, 1963-66) and "Pueblo" (ABC, 1972-73). He also appeared in "Wolfen" (1981) with Albert Finney and the Woody Allen comedy "Zelig" (1983). Later in his career, Bell acted on "Law & Order" (NBC, 1990-2010).
