Biography
Michael Mellinger was a prolific actor who created a name for himself largely on the big screen. Mellinger kickstarted his acting career in various films such as "South of Algiers" (1954), the action movie "They Who Dare" (1954) with Dirk Bogarde and the dramatic adaptation "The Beachcomber" (1955) with Glynis Johns. He also appeared in the adaptation "Man on a String" (1960) with Ernest Borgnine, "The Password Is Courage" (1962) and "Goldfinger" (1964). He continued to work steadily in film throughout the eighties, appearing in "The Awakening" (1980), the spy thriller "Eye of the Needle" (1981) with Donald Sutherland and "Ascendancy" (1982). He also lent his voice to the Jacques Derrida drama "Ghost Dance" (1983). He also was featured in the TV movie "The March" (1991-92). Mellinger most recently acted in "Dirty Pretty Things" (2003) with Chiwetel Ejiofor.
