A strikingly handsome blond actor, Ron Melendez was one of 12 rising stars dubbed by TV GUIDE (November 7, 1998) as "ones to watch" among "young Hollywood." The lanky native Californian was selected based on his role as the troubled teenaged orphan on UPN's highly-touted primetime serial "Legacy" (1998-99). Playing a "pseudo bad guy," Melendez brought a charm and appeal to the role of an 19th-century con man. Prior to his big break, the actor had appeared in run-of-the-mill genre fare like the horror flicks "The Unborn II" (1994) and "Voodoo" and "The Children of the Corn III" (both 1995). His highest profile roles had been as the youthful version of the male lead (seen in flashbacks) in "Our Son, the Matchmaker" (CBS, 1996) and as the boyfriend of a gymnast with an eating disorder in "Perfect Body" (NBC, 1997). in the NBC TV-movie "Perfect Body"
