Biography
Julia McKenzie was an actress who had a successful Hollywood career. She also was featured in the miniseries "Ike" (1978-79). She also acted in various film roles at the time, appearing in "The Wildcats of St. Trinian's" (1980) and "Those Glory Glory Days" (1986). She also appeared in the TV special "Adam Bede" (PBS, 1991). In the eighties and the nineties, she worked on the silver screen, taking roles in the Pauline Collins comedy adaptation "Shirley Valentine" (1989) and "Vol-Au-Vent" (1996). She also appeared in the dramatic adaptation "Notes on a Scandal" (2006) with Judi Dench. She also had parts in the miniseries "Cranford" (2007) and "Return to Cranford" (2009-2010). McKenzie's distinctive voice can be heard on "Jack & the Beanstalk" (HBO, 1999-2000). Most recently, McKenzie appeared in "The Casual Vacancy" (2014-15).
