British-born Charles Mesure studied acting at the National Institute of Dramatic Art in Australia, where he and his family moved to when he was a child. Mesure's early professional acting career was established on the stage, but in the mid-1990s he started working on various New Zealand television programs like "City Life" and "Street Legal." He also had a recurring role as the Archangel Michael on the camp fantasy cult shows "Xena: Warrior Princess" and "Hercules: The Legendary Journeys." He played the character of Ben Faulkner on the last season of "Desperate Housewives," and American television viewers may also know him from small parts on shows like "Lost," "Bones," and "Crossing Jordan."
