Biography
John Madden was known for his exceptional coaching, and he brought that same charisma to the world of entertainment. He appeared in a number of television specials, including "Super Night at the Super Bowl" (CBS, 1986-87) and "The NFL Pre-Season Special" (CBS, 1987-88). He worked in television in his early acting career as well, including a part on "NFL Dream Season" (ESPN Network, 1989-1990). Madden also lent his vocal talents to "The Simpsons" (Fox, 1989-). He also contributed to a variety of television specials, including "Little Caesar's 11th Annual All-Madden Team" (1994-95), "Rebels With a Cause: The Story of the American Football League" (HBO, 1995-96) and "The Super Bowl at 30: Big Game America" (TNT, 1995-96). Additionally, he later acted in "Little Giants" (1994). He also appeared in the Dave Barry comedy "Dave Barry's Complete Guide to Guys" (2005). Additionally, he could be seen on a variety of television specials like "Super Bowl XXXIII" (1998-99), "The Sportscasters: Behind the Mike" (History, 1999-2000) and "Broadway Joe: The Joe Namath Story" (2001-02). Most recently, Madden appeared on "Lombardi" (HBO, 2010-11).
