Best known as the conniving and arrogant Harriet Oleson of "Little House on the Prairie," Katherine "Scottie" MacGregor was born in Glendale, California, though she would spend part of her formative years in Denver, Colorado. Her career began prestigiously on Broadway. During this time she wed actor, Bert Ramsen, but the marriage was short-lived. While in New York she appeared in a few films and TV series, including a small uncredited part in the classic "On the Waterfront" and the series" East Side/West Side." By the '70s, she headed to Hollywood to better pursue film and TV work. She went on to garner work in a variety of productions including the hospital drama "Emergency!," the Golden Globe-winning controversial comedy series "All in the Family," and the disabled detective drama "Ironside." In 1974, she earned the role that would etch her into the memories of millions as Oleson on "Little House." She went on to appear in more than 150 episodes over the beloved series' nine season run. After the show ended she returned to the stage, living in Hollywood and producing plays for "The Wee Hollywood Vedanta Players," a children's theater.
