Adoni Maropis is best known for his roles in the martial arts series "Mortal Kombat: Conquest" and the conspiracy thriller series "24." Maropis, who is a Type 1 diabetic, graduated with a business degree from West Virginia University before pursuing his acting ambitions at Point Park University. He appeared in many local plays and productions and soon transitioned to TV with a debut role in the 1996 police drama "High Incident." He worked steadily in supporting parts until landing a major role in 1998 as the villainous sorcerer Quan Chi on "Mortal Kombat: Conquest," a TV adaptation of the popular martial arts videogame. He has since lent his voice to the videogame "Mortal Kombat: Federation of Martial Arts" and "Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2." Continuing his streak of playing amoral characters, Maropis appeared as a double-crossing general in the "The Scorpion King" and a desert rider in the action film "Hidalgo." In 2007 Maropis landed a recurring role as an Islamic terrorist leader on the sixth season of the political thriller "24." He has since appeared on the procedural drama "CSI: NY" and the spy comedy "Chuck."
