Biography
David Lyon was an actor with a strong presence in film throughout his Hollywood career. He also was featured in the miniseries "Codename: Kyril" (1987-88). He had an early role on the television special "Lord Mountbatten: The Last Viceroy" (PBS, 1985-86). He worked in television in his early acting career as well, including a part on "First Among Equals" (PBS, 1986-87). He also appeared in the TV special "The Comedy of Errors" (1989-1990). Following that project, he appeared in the comedy "Ping Pong" (1987) with David Yip, the Dirk Bogarde drama "The Vision" (1987) and the thriller "Empire State" (1988) with Cathryn Harrison. He also worked in television around this time, including a part on "Agatha Christie's Poirot" (PBS, 1988-2013). Lyon's more recent roles included the Helen Mirren dramatic comedy "Greenfingers" (2001). Additionally, he could be seen on a variety of television specials like "House of Cards" (1990-96) and "King Lear" (PBS, 1998-99). Most recently, Lyon appeared in "Rebus: Black and Blue" (BBC, 2002-03).
