Biography
Biography
Kate Lock is a working British actress who has appeared in dozens of television productions, along with the occasional film. A stage veteran, Lock began taking on small TV roles during the late 1970s, going on to multiple guest spots on the long-running procedural dramas "Casualty" (BBC, 1986- ) and "The Bill" (ITV, 1984-2010). In 1990, she had a supporting part in the espionage thriller "The Russia House," starring Sean Connery and Michelle Pfeiffer, but primarily turned up on British TV shows. Though not a known name, Lock is a versatile performer who has also remained active on the stage.
A mainstay of British theater, Lock first ventured onto the screen with the 1976 BBC drama series "Katy." She remained a semi-regular TV presence over the decades, while still working in various stage productions. Appearing twice on the medical show "Casualty," she was featured five times on "The Bill," playing a different character each time. Lock also penned two 1990s episodes of "Casualty" in a rare foray into writing. Outside of "The Russia House," her film work has been limited, but in 2012, she had a part in Mike Newell's moody take on Charles Dickens' "Great Expectations," starring Helena Bonham Carter and Ralph Fiennes, followed by a brief turn in the tense drama "Closed Circuit" (2013), featuring Eric Bana and Rebecca Hall.
