Lewis found her beginnings in film with roles in the crime drama "Desperate Hours" (1990) with Mickey Rourke and "Ski Patrol" (1990). Later, she acted in the comedy "The Dream Machine" (1991) with Corey Haim, "Stephen King's The Stand" (1993) and "Just Like Dad" (Disney, 1996-97). She also appeared in "Unhook the Stars" (1996) with Gena Rowlands. More recently, Lewis worked on the animated family feature "Alpha and Omega" (2010) with Justin Long.
