Biography

In 2006, L.A. native James LeSure was voted the Most Valuable Player of the NBA Entertainment League, a Hollywood group that showcases some of the more athletic members of the film and TV actors trade. In the 2011 midseason ABC-TV comedy series "Mr. Sunshine," art imitates life -- he plays Alonzo, a former basketball star. Leading up to this latest regular role assignment have been a cavalcade of guest star roles and regular spots opposite Holly Robinson Peete on the 1998-2002 sitcom "For Your Love," about the love lives of three couples, and James Caan on the 2003-2008 NBC gambling drama favorite "Las Vegas." It was as head of hotel and casino security Mike Cannon that Lesure became most known to viewers as well as magazine editors, who liked during this time to brand him as one of Hollywood's most eligible bachelors. The handsome 6'2" African-American has graced many other shows over the course of his career, including the girl power dramatic comedy "Lipstick Jungle," a comedic look at the life of a divorced mother in "The New Adventures of Old Christine," and the self-reflexive "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip," providing viewers with a fictionalized account of a skecth comedy television program.
